Self-paced course · Built on the Beyond Bypassing workbook
A self-paced course for couples who keep having the same argument
Most couples do not have a hundred problems. They have one argument that wears different clothes.
Dr. Donetta D. Quinones, PhD, LMHC, LPC · GraceRoot Relationship Healing Institute
Who this is for
If you and your partner love each other, keep hurting each other in the same predictable way, and want to know exactly where the argument turns — this course is for you. It is designed for two people at a kitchen table, not for a classroom, and it assumes no background in psychology.
What you will be able to do
The modules
| 01 | When the Reaction Becomes the Issue How the argument you are having stops being about the thing you started with. | 45 min |
| 02 | Cognitive Bypassing Thinking your way around a feeling, and why it looks so much like being reasonable. | 45 min |
| 03 | Emotional Bypassing Going around a feeling by having a different one — or none at all. | 45 min |
| 04 | Facts, Interpretations, Emotions, Behaviors Taking an incident apart so you can find the exact place you and your partner stopped agreeing. | 50 min |
| 05 | Validation Is Not Agreement How to say 'that makes sense' to something you think is wrong. | 45 min |
| 06 | Attachment Styles and Conflict Processing Why you need to finish it tonight and your partner needs to stop, and why neither of you is wrong. | 55 min |
| 07 | The Tone Trap "It's not what you said, it's how you said it" — and why both of you are right. | 45 min |
| 08 | When Therapy Language Becomes a Weapon Boundaries, triggers, gaslighting, trauma — and what happens when the words get used to win. | 45 min |
| 09 | The BOTH/AND Principle The end of the winner-and-loser structure, and the beginning of a conversation two people can survive. | 45 min |
| 10 | The P.R.O.C.E.S.S. Method Seven steps, in order, every time — the conversation you can run when you do not trust yourselves to improvise. | 60 min |
| 11 | Acknowledge, Accept, Act Three movements that must happen in order — and the difference between a justification, an excuse, and an honest account. | 50 min |
| 12 | Accountability Without Shame Owning impact without collapsing — and receiving an apology without using it. | 50 min |
| 13 | Repair, Resolution, and Relational Safety Healthy relationships are not defined by the absence of rupture. They are defined by the reliability of repair. | 60 min |

Questions people actually ask
Either works, but one module a week is the pace most couples sustain, and the skills compound — Module 10 assumes you have been practising Modules 1 through 9. Doing all thirteen in a weekend produces recognition without change, which is the specific failure Module 11 is about.
No, and the course says so on its first screen. It is not appropriate where there is coercive control — intimidation, threats, monitoring, control of money or movement, or fear of your partner. Working on communication inside a coercive relationship can make a person less safe rather than more. In the United States, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788.
No. Each course module maps onto the workbook module of the same number, so they work well together, but the course teaches the material in full on its own.
No. It is education, and it does not replace working with a licensed clinician. Where there is active addiction, untreated severe mental illness, or an ongoing affair, those need their own work alongside or before couples work.
Into your own browser, on your own device, and nowhere else. Nothing is sent anywhere and nobody but you can see it.
Not the disappearance of your pattern — nobody gets that. What changes is duration, damage, and the reliability of the return.
