Why Crossing the Ranks™

Built for the people already showing up for boys

Every boy crosses invisible developmental ranks on the way to becoming a healthy man — and many carry wounds they didn't choose. This series equips you to walk alongside them with skill, safety, and hope, in any community across the nation.

Trauma-Informed

Grounded in ACEs, attachment, and resilience research — learn to ask "what happened to him?" instead of "what's wrong with him?"

✝️

Faith-Grounded

🎓

Evidence-Based

Research from Felitti, Bowlby, van der Kolk, Perry, Lerner, Goleman, Greenleaf and more — with expert video in every lesson.

Self-Paced LMS

Interactive lessons, flip-card flashcards, and knowledge checks — with 6-month access from the date of purchase, on your schedule.

📒

Workbooks Included

For Program Leaders

How to launch a thriving program

Crossing the Ranks™ is self-paced, but the strongest programs are built in community. We recommend two practices for leaders starting a mentorship program:

📅

Hold weekly meetings

We advise program leaders to gather their mentors weekly — by Zoom or in person — to discuss the course material, debrief real mentoring situations, and grow together. Cohort learning turns individual study into a connected team of skilled mentors.

🤝

Partner with a local institution

We advise those starting a mentorship program to partner with a local institution — a church, school, team, or nonprofit — to support the specific needs of their community. A local partner provides connection to youth, a meeting space, and lasting roots for your program.

The Pathway

One series. Four levels. A multiplying mission.

Move from foundational mentoring all the way to certifying other facilitators in your community.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What's included in the $399?

The complete pathway: all four courses (Mentoring Boys to Become Men, Developing Young Leaders, Multiplying Kingdom Leaders, and the Facilitator Certification), 144 lessons, and a printable plus online workbook for every course — including the capstone portfolio templates you'll use to launch a program.

How long do I have access to the course?

Enrollees receive 6 months of access from the date of purchase. The courses are self-paced within that window, so you can move at your own pace and revisit lessons as you train.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. You can use the PayPal payment plan: $100 down plus 2 monthly payments of $149.50, for a total of $399.

Where can I run a program — is this only for one region?

Crossing the Ranks™ can be implemented nationwide. Leaders anywhere in the country can enroll and launch a program in their own community. We also offer extra connection for leaders in the Greater Houston region — see the Houston section above.

Do leaders need to meet together?

It's highly recommended. We advise program leaders to hold weekly meetings — by Zoom or in person — to discuss the course material and debrief real mentoring situations. Cohort learning is where individual study becomes a connected team of skilled mentors.

Should I partner with a local organization?

Yes — we advise it. Partnering with a local institution (a church, school, team, or nonprofit) helps you meet your community's specific needs and gives your program a meeting space, connection to youth, and lasting roots.

Do I need any experience or credentials to start?

No. Course I is foundational and has no prerequisites. The later courses build on each other, and the Facilitator Certification prepares experienced mentors to train and certify others.

Is this clinical or therapy training?

No. It's mentor training. Scripture and research support character formation and healthy relationships, but mentors are not a substitute for parents, pastors, or mental-health professionals. The courses teach you to recognize when to refer to professional help.

Boys everywhere are waiting. Will you answer the call?

Join mentors across the country who are crossing the ranks alongside the next generation of young men. Start today for $399 — payment plan available, with 6-month access.

Prefer to talk first? Email us at mentor@graceroot.institute and we'll help you get started.

Scripture is integrated to support character formation and healthy relationships. Mentors are not a substitute for parents, pastors, or mental-health professionals. If a youth is in crisis, call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988).
