Attachment Theory & Emotional Bonding — an evidence-informed, biblically grounded course for couples, premarital ministry, and counseling formation
Human beings are wired for connection. From our first breath we reach for a safe, dependable presence — and the way those early bonds were answered quietly shapes how we love as adults. Secure Love takes the best of contemporary relationship science (Bowlby and Ainsworth’s attachment research, John & Julie Gottman’s decades of marriage studies, and Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused approach) and reads it alongside the biblical vision of covenant love: faithful, present, and unafraid.
The course moves through six modules — each containing three focused 20–25 minute lessons (about 60–75 minutes per module). You will progress from understanding the science of attachment, to assessing your own patterns, to building practical bonding skills, and finally to authoring a personalized, actionable growth plan you can carry into marriage and ministry.
