The agreement that governs your use of the GraceRoot Institute website, courses, assessments, and programs.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and GraceRoot Institute ("GraceRoot," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the website located at graceroot.institute, along with our online courses, assessments, certificates, member portals, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By creating an account, enrolling in a course, purchasing a resource, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
GraceRoot Institute is a trauma-informed, Christ-centered educational platform offering online relationship-healing courses, self-assessments, and court-ordered educational programs. The Services are operated by Academic Research Solutions Inc., dba GraceRoot Institute, located at 1790 Hughes Landing Blvd, #438, The Woodlands, TX 77380.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and enroll. Programs designed for minors require enrollment and consent by a parent or legal guardian.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at support@graceroot.institute if you suspect unauthorized use. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account or course access to another person.
GraceRoot's courses, assessments, and materials are provided for educational and psychoeducational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional diagnosis, therapy, medical care, or legal advice, and using the Services does not create a therapist–client, physician–patient, or attorney–client relationship.
If you are experiencing a crisis or thinking about harming yourself or others, do not use this website for help. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741, or dial 911. For domestic violence support, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.
Any assessment scores, reflections, or AI-assisted chat responses are informational tools to support learning and self-reflection. They are not clinical evaluations, and no result should be relied upon as a professional judgment about your health or circumstances.
Course and resource prices are displayed at the point of purchase and may change over time. Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
You authorize us and our payment processor to charge the payment method you provide for all fees you incur. Applicable taxes may be added.
Because our Services deliver immediate access to digital educational content, all sales are generally final once a course or resource has been accessed. If you believe you are entitled to a refund due to a technical problem, duplicate charge, or billing error, contact us at support@graceroot.institute within 14 days of purchase and we will review your request in good faith.
Scholarship and reduced-fee options are available for participants who need financial assistance. Visit the Scholarship Program page to learn more.
Some participants enroll to satisfy a court order, probation requirement, or agency mandate. If you enroll in a court-ordered program, you are responsible for confirming, before you purchase, that the specific program, format, and hours meet the requirements of the court or agency to which you must report. GraceRoot does not guarantee acceptance by any particular court, agency, or jurisdiction.
Certificates of completion are issued only after you meet all completion criteria, which may include seat-time, assessments, reflections, and any applicable passing thresholds. Certificates reflect completion of an educational program; they do not certify treatment, rehabilitation, or a clinical outcome. Falsifying identity, seat time, or assessment responses is grounds for revocation of a certificate and termination of access without refund.
You agree not to:
All content on the Services — including course curricula, text, video, audio, assessments, worksheets, graphics, logos, and software — is owned by GraceRoot Institute or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Upon enrollment we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the content solely for your own educational purposes. No other rights are granted.
The Services may allow you to submit reflections, forum posts, assessment responses, uploaded documents, and messages ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, and you grant GraceRoot a license to host, store, and process it as needed to operate the Services and support your learning.
You are responsible for your User Content and represent that you have the right to share it. To protect participant safety, forum and chat content may be monitored, and posts indicating a risk of harm may be flagged for review by a clinician or moderator, consistent with our Privacy Policy and Confidentiality Policy.
We rely on trusted third-party providers to deliver the Services, including payment processing (PayPal), hosting and databases, email delivery, and analytics. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any educational outcome, certificate acceptance, or personal result will be achieved.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GraceRoot Institute and its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Services. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid to GraceRoot in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GraceRoot Institute and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your infringement of any third-party right.
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, misuse the Services, or engage in conduct that could harm other participants or GraceRoot. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County or Harris County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
